Public Consultation: Proposed Amendment to Part A (Structure) of the Building Regulations

The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Mr. Éamon Ó Cuív, has published the draft Building Regulations (Part A Amendment) 2011 and the associated draft Technical Guidance Document A (Structure) for public consultation.

This marks an important and significant change to the Building Regulations, driven by the implementation of the Structural Eurocodes in Ireland, in March 2010. Stakeholders, members of the public and other interested parties are invited to review these documents, which are available to download from the Department for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government’s website here. Submissions and comments on the draft Regulations and/or Technical Guidance Document should be forwarded, in writing or by email, to:

Paula Doyle, Building Standards, Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Custom House, Dublin 1,

The closing date for the receipt of submissions and comments is no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 6 May 2011.
