Evening Lecture: Stabilisation of Historic Masonry (Engineers Ireland Heritage Society)


The Heritage Society of Engineers Ireland (in conjunction with the Structures and Construction Division) will host an evening lecture on Monday 3rd October 2011. This lecture will focus on the stabilisation of historic masonry and will be presented be a joint presentation by:

  • Kevin Clancy, Chartered Engineer, Punch Conservation
  • David Kelly, Chartered Engineer, David Kelly Partnership
  • Lisa Edden, Consulting Structural Engineer

In their presentation the speakers will discuss three case studies from around Ireland: Fermoy Flood Relief (Saving the leaning wall); Boyle Abbey, Co Roscommon (the dismantling, reconstruction and conservation of the Nave north wall) and Mucklagh Gateway, Co Offaly (the repair and stabilisation of the eye catching entrance to Charleville Estate).
