Seminar: Design of Concrete Anchors

HSA Code of Practice for the Design and Installation of Anchors
The Institution of Structural Engineers and the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland will hold a half-day seminar on Design of Concrete Anchors, in May 2011 (Date to be confirmed). This seminar will be presented by Mr Bryan Carroll of Masonry Fixing Services Limited. Bryan has been a key participant in the development of the new Irish Code of Practice for the Design and Installation of Anchors, which came into effect in May 2010. He is also is currently active in the development of a European Code on the same subject. ACEI delegates will also discuss the new advice note to members in relation to design responsibilities for concrete Anchors.

The half-day seminar will be split into two sessions. The first session will address recent Design Codes, legislation, design requirements and the pending European Code. Following an interval, the second session will be an open forum with examples and answers to questions submitted by seminar attendees in advance. All participants will be issued with copies of design codes and other relevant documents.

This seminar is open to non-members and will be beneficial to Civil/Structural Consulting Engineers, contractors and other high volume users of concrete anchors. We would like to encourage members to pass this notice to friends or colleagues who may be interested in the subject matter.
