The Design and Construction of the New Mizen Head Footbridge – Evening Lecture
The Mizen Head Footbridge is a reinforced concrete through-arch structure spanning 50m. The original bridge was completed in 1909. After 100 years of service, the bridge was demolished and reconstructed between 2009 and 2010.
A joint presentation from the project steering group will be given on Tuesday, 8 March, in Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork. This lecture will focus on the design and construction challenges of safely demolishing and reconstructing the bridge in a difficult site location.
