Conciliation Procedures (No. 1 Jan-96)
Lecture given by David Keane in the Museum Building, Trinity College Dublin on 10 December 1996
David Keane is a Barrister-at-Law and a Consultant to Keane Murphy Duff, Architects. He is the President of the RIAI for 1996/1997. He is the author of two books:
- The RIAI Contracts
- A Working Guide Building and the Law

Safety at Sports Grounds (No. 1 Jan-96)
Codes of practice titled “Safety at Sports Grounds” and “Safety at Outdoor Pop Concerts and other Out Door Musical Events” were published by the Department of Education on the 18th January 1996. Building Regulations (No. 1 Jan-96)

Site Safety (No. 1 Jan-96)
Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (construction) Regulations, 1995 were issued in June of last year. These place responsibilities on clients, designers and Building Contractors. Many of the requirements already apply. However for projects commencing after the 1st March 1996 clients must appoint a project supervisor for construction. After the 1st March 1996 clients are obliged to appoint a competent project supervisor for both the design and construction stage. This may or may not be the same person. Read the rest of this entry »
